Everyone registered on this site will be considered mature enough to contribute to a public forum and as such we hope that members behaviour will reflect that. Consequently, we have decided not to enable the post/thread reporting facility on this site.
If, however, we feel that we are receiving a large number of complaints from members, then we will of course revisit this option.
However, to begin with, we'd like to give our members the opportunity to be welcomed into a community that is less like being at school and more like being at your local Bar.

With that being said, we do unfortunately have to have a set of rules and we would appreciate you taking just five minutes to read and digest the following in order that any confusion regarding what is allowed will be kept to a minimum.

Finally, I would just like to make it clear that whilst we will take all necessary precautions and measures to ensure the integrity of this site and it's members, often achieved by making tough decisions, these decisions and any subsequent action will ALWAYS be fair, and any case of anything more than a warning will be investigated thoroughly to ensure impartiality and fairness.

Threads/Posts must be civil and tasteful
Threads/posts considered to be offensive to other members, or considered as bad taste may be edited/deleted by one of the forum moderators. This includes signatures.

Text Talk / Short Replies
On this Forum, you are not limited to 180 characters like in a text message, so please try not use 'text talk' in your posts. Please don't just reply with one word answers, try and be helpful and also give your opinions.
Post counts can be reduced if a member is found to be just posting short replies to up his/her post count.
Text Talk however IS PERMITTED on the Chatbox.

Abusive Comments
Members may not use FON to abuse any other member of the forum. If a member does abuse another member then they will be issued a warning, along with details of why they have been warned. If a member repeats the offence further action will be taken including suspension of account and a possible ban.
The difficulty of moderating behaviour is that to one person a comment might be abusive, but to another it may not be. Ultimately everyone is entitled to free speech and air their opinions and if you feel another members content should be challenged then you have that right. Just be mindful that we are aware that society has changed and what used to be accepted years ago is now perhaps not.

If however you feel that you have been unfairly treated, then contact Admin via PM or email to: fansofnerja@gmail.com who will review the situation.

Discrimination
Discrimination is not tolerated on this forum.
Discrimination can be on the basis of race, sex, disability, religion, sexual orientation or political persuasion.

Promotion of other sites
Members are not permitted to promote another site on FON, without the permission of a member of the Admin team. If a member is found to promote/spam the site with another site then they will be warned and all posts will be removed.

Age Range
FON is open to anyone from the age of 16, therefore posts need to be respectful.
No images or URL of a pornographic nature are welcome and will be removed.
Bad Language needs to be kept to a minimum and if a post is found to contain this, then moderators have the ability to edit/delete the post.
There is a profanity filtering system in place (which you may notice if some of your sentences either don't make sense or end up being quite amusing) however this will be constantly monitored and adjusted where necessary as it is inevitable that some words will get through.

Usernames
If a member is found to have multiple accounts, then these accounts may be removed or suspended and the user banned.

Signatures/Avatars
Members are given the ability to create their own signature. However signatures slow the loading of the site down, and therefore need to be kept to a minimum.

Signatures
* 1 Large Image (500x150 pixels) or 2 small image bars (350 x 25px)
* Less than 500 Characters of Text at default font size.
* NO FLASH signatures of any kind.
* Animated Images should be LESS than 512kb.

Avatars
No Flash Images
Animated Images Less than 512 KB

1 Animated Image, either in your signature or avatar.

If you fail to meet this, then moderators will edit your signature and issue a warning.

Warnings
Warnings will be issued if a member breaks these simple rules, or causes a disruption to the forum. Warnings can be issued for the following...

Text Talk (permitted on Chatbox)
Short/Pointless Replies/Overuse of Smilies (permitted on Chatbox)
Off-Topic Posting (permitted on Chatbox)
Personal Insults
Strong Language
Racist Comments
Spamming

In serious cases, a warning will not be appropriate and the account will be suspended for a period of time.

Complaints
If a member has a complaint against another member/moderator/admin, or a post/thread, then contact the Admin via PM or email to: fansofnerja@gmail.com
Complaints made public on the forum will be removed. Failure to do so in the correct manner may result in you receiving a warning.

Suspensions
Admin have the power to suspend your account.
During this period you will receive an E-mail (to your registered email address), regarding the reasoning behind this suspension, and the outcome of a discussion between the Admin Team and the decision as to when (or if) you would be allowed to return, and under what conditions.

Banned Members
If a banned member wishes to return to FON after being away for more than 12 months then they can send an e-mail to fansofnerja@gmail.com

The Fans of Nerja Forum will do its best to attempt to keep all messages on this site respectful and within the rules, but it is impossible for us to review/monitor everything.
